Third day at Grey: starting to really help!
Today I noticed that Renzo and Johnny, two of the assistants at Grey, are trusting me a little bit more since they have started to really give me some work to do. I feel part of Grey when I can "do" and and not only watch how other people do things. The day started as any other, I got at 9 am to Grey and went to my office. Today Johnny was the first one to arrive, so he decided to challenge me and gave me a Picaras (cookies) promotion to work on. I had to organize the name of the Picara contest winners. I also had to check and make sure nobody left out any information on the contact portion of the inscription. It was a lot of work and I stayed like two hours or even more working on this. I took a little more time than expected but I didn't make any mistakes and Johnny was impressed in some way to see my organizational skills. Since I am not very organized, today I had to change that and I tried my best and worked professionally.
Then, at 11am Mr. Topf (Innovation Academy teacher) came to check and meet with my mentor, Eliana Coquis. This was a short meeting. Mr Topf wanted to see how everything was going, know the place where I was doing my internship and finally talk with my mentor to explain everything from a teacher's point of view.
After Mr. Topf left, I continued to work with Johnny. I just couldn't believe what would happen next! Johnny had to give an award to the winner of a contest organized by a Peruvian detergent called ARIEL. Can you believe that the prize was a new car? GREY PERU was in charge of organizing this contest. This was incredible; I had never been the one giving a car or even a small price to someone! I also congratulated the winner who was a very old lady and she started to cry because she got so happy and couldn't believe that she had actually won a car! This is something that I will never forget in my life!

After a great experience I went to eat lunch at Bembos again. Then, Renzo told me that he would be having a meeting, and that he would like me to accompany him. And so I did! In the meeting we talked about prices of campaigns and events that could happen in the summer. The company that Grey is working for gave us a budget. With this budget, we had to brainstorm how many events in Lima and in the rest of Peru we would need to plan to advertise a certain product. The company's expectations were very high for the budget that we had so, we had to think about many ideas and be extremely creative. We had to think about the locations for the events and discuss if these specific places were worth investing on or not, like the finance project that we did!
Today was definitely a great day, I would say that the best day of my internship so far! However, on Saturday I will be shown how they film a cartoon commercial. I am very curious about this already!
