Un Techo Para mi Pais. I am a new member of the FDR Techo club and I have gone to one build. What we do in techo is we go to a poor area in Peru such as: San Juan de Lurigancho or Villa Maria del Triunfo and build a house for a poor family that cannot afford shelter. As well, we interact with the family and make them feel different, loved and appreciated.
When you go to a place like this you see people just like you with different realities. You learn that a whole can be used as a bathroom, that sand and rocks can be used as floor, that family is extremely important, and that you don't have to be wealthy to be happy. There are many moments that you think how can someone live in this conditions? is it possible? Then you realize that since the moment that you came this questions had been answered but you came here to make a change, a change in a families life.

Pebal. Since I was little, I loved helping. With a group of friends I decided to go to Pamplona, a poor place in Lima, called Pebal. Pebal works with kids that have been abandoned, have teenage mothers or have mothers that cant be with them for particular reasons.
Before we entered to Pebal you could see the sad look in the face of the children, some were crying, otheres were running but all of them had something in common, none of them smiled. We set up a goal to make them smile and after a week of being with them, sharing with them, playing with them, being their older brothers we finally were able to see many smiles but even better the kids came and hugged us, laughed with us and had a good time.
